ABOUT THIS VIDEO How do you know when God is speaking to you? How do you position yourself to hear Him? “For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God” (Romans 8.14, NLT). The witness that we are His is in that we can hear His voice leading and guiding us in the direction we are to go. The question is are we listening? Passive Listening – somewhat engaged. Active Listening – fully engaged. 👉 1. Listening requires us to know His voice. “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me” (John 10.27, NLT). “Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take” (Proverbs 3.6, NLT). 👉 2. Listening requires us to slow down. “Go out and stand before me on the mountain,” the Lord told him. And as Elijah stood there, the Lord passed by, and a mighty windstorm hit the mountain. It was such a terrible blast that the rocks were torn loose, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. And after the earthquake there was a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire there was the sound of a gentle whisper” (1 Kings 19.11-12, NLT). 👉 3. Listening requires obedience to what He says. “But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves” (James 1.22, NLT). “Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it.
