“When God spoke from Mount Sinai his voice shook the earth, but now he makes another promise: ‘Once again I will shake not only the earth but the heavens also.’ This means that all of creation will be shaken and removed, so that only UNSHAKABLE things will remain. Since we are receiving a Kingdom that is UNSHAKABLE, let us be thankful and please God by worshiping him with holy fear and awe. For our God is a devouring fire” (Hebrews 12.26-19, NLT). 1. Systems will be shaken but in God’s power we remain the same. “The old system under the law of Moses was only a shadow, a dim preview of the good things to come, not the good things themselves. The sacrifices under that system were repeated again and again, year after year, but they were never able to provide perfect cleansing for those who came to worship” (Hebrews 10.1, NLT). “Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ” (Philippians 3.8, NLT). 2. Relationships will be shaken but in God’s presence we remain secure. “He cuts off every branch of mine that doesn’t produce fruit, and he prunes the branches that do bear fruit so they will produce even more” (John 15.2, NLT). 3. Expectations will be shaken but in God’s promises we remain confident. “The grass withers and the flowers fade, but the word of our God stands forever” (Isaiah 40:8, NLT).
